Save of the Quarter winners announced

USA Health University Hospital's Stroke Program recently announced the latest "Save of the Quarter" during the monthly Stroke Steering Committee meeting. Staff recognized emergency medical service (EMS) personnel who went above and beyond to help save a brain. For the fourth quarter of 2025, the "Save of the Quarter" went to Medstar crew Aaron Rothschild and Harbor Wallace and Aircare1 crew, including Harrison Bright and Timothy Chandler for their swift care of a stroke survivor. The initiative is a partnership between University Hospital and Medtronic, a healthcare technology company that develops products to address chronic health conditions, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes and more.

City of Mobile proclaims September as Sickle Cell Awareness Month

One of the month's signature events is the PACT Transition Planning Open House on Sept. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is designed to help adolescents and young adults with sickle cell disease prepare for the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare services, while connecting families with resources and support systems.
