Meaningful Reflections: 2026 Spiritual Health and Counseling theme announced

Kindness comes in many forms and does not have to cost anything; yet the impact is often more valuable than imagined.

The theme for the Spiritual Health and Counseling Department for 2026 is: Be Kind —  Kindness is the Spark that Ignites Peace, Joy, and Hope. The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.”

Whatever situation we may come across, the smallest act of kindness may change someone’s day in the most incredible way.

Kindness comes in many forms and does not have to cost anything; yet the impact is often more valuable than imagined. I invite you to receive this blessing of kindness to begin our new year, and may you find kindness in abundance.

Blessing of Kindness

May kindness be the spark within you,

Igniting joy where there is sorrow,

Hope where there is weariness,

And peace where there is unrest.

May every kind word you speak and compassionate act

Flow outward like ripples of water,

Touching lives you may never know,

Healing hearts you may never meet.

May your spark of kindness ignite kindness,

Your light awaken light,

Until the world is warmed

By the quiet fire of goodness

That began in your heart.

May you always be blessed

To see how even the smallest spark

Can grow into a flame

That brightens life for yourself and others.
