More than 15,000 children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States each year, creating a critical need for research investments that can lead to more targeted and safer treatments.

The program serves youth referred through the Strickland Youth Center who are on informal probation, pairing them with community health workers who identify needs, connect families with services, and develop individualized plans to support long-term success.

Many of the teens learned stronger communication skills and came away with a new sense of purpose after the eight-week program at USA Health hospitals.

Candice Powers will support HFMA chapter presidents in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee by helping chapters meet association requirements, strengthen leadership, address member needs and maintain high-quality programming throughout the region.
