The USA Health Center for Healthy Communities is nearing the official launch of the HALO (Healing Life and Opportunities) Program, a new hospital-based violence intervention initiative housed at University Hospital.

As program leadership finalizes the structure, they are asking for feedback from USA Health employees to directly inform how HALO is integrated into hospital services to ensure its success.

Please take a few minutes to complete this short, anonymous survey: https://southalabama.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5mwCakbQNYDbpX0

This survey will help:

  • Gauge current awareness of the HALO program.
  • Understand existing perceptions of community violence and its impact on patient outcomes.
  • Identify areas where additional training or information might be beneficial for staff.

Perspectives from across all levels of the health system are crucial in helping program leadership understand the current training and informational needs of the hospital related to this vital new initiative established by the City of Mobile and funded through a partnership with Mobile County Health Department and the city.

Your participation is appreciated and will play a significant role in making HALO a truly impactful program in the community.

Benjamin Estrada tapped to lead USA Health pediatrics

“The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families is what has always inspired me, and it is the people of pediatrics who have shown me what that commitment looks like every day. Their example has reinforced an enduring truth: our purpose extends beyond individual accomplishments because we are united by a mission far greater than ourselves.”, said Benjamin Estrada, M.D.
