Employee appreciation gifts arriving soon

Next week, USA Health employees will receive a gift as a show of appreciation from administration.

An employee appreciation gift is on the way for all USA Health staff as a special thank-you from administration.

The gifts will be shipped directly to USA Health clinics including the Strada Patient Care Center, the Mitchell Cancer Institute, Stanton Road Clinic, pandemic vaccine/test site and Baldwin County clinics as well as outlying departments such as UHOP. Although the boxes may be addressed to Volunteer Services, they should be kept at the location for direct distribution, said Belinda Baggett, director of volunteer services for USA Health.

For departments at Children’s & Women’s Hospital, CWEB and IT on Catherine Street, managers will pick up gifts for staff on Tuesday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at the Children’s & Women’s Hospital loading dock.

For departments at University Hospital, the Moorer Building and Mastin Professional Building, managers will pick up gifts for staff on Tuesday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at the University Hospital loading dock.

Managers will need to bring carts for loading and distributing. The gifts measure about one-third the size of the holiday blankets distributed in 2020, Baggett said.

For departments that need extras or do not receive gifts, managers may pick up the items at our Human Resources offices on Center Street or at University Hospital after May 11.

“Our Chemo Sabe volunteers astound me with their dedication, not just to patients but to the staff as well,” said Susan Crutchfield, community and physician outreach manager at the Mitchell Cancer Institute. “They seem to lift everyone’s spirits when there, and they have a reciprocal caring relationship with staff.”
