USA Health expanding services with drive-through flu clinic

USA Health is expanding its services in the community and will begin offering City of Mobile employees, retirees and their dependents flu shots during several weekday clinics at the Mobile Civic Center COVID-19 drive-through testing site scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 26.

The flu vaccine also will be available to City of Mobile employees during Saturday clinics, also staffed by USA Health, held at three area fire stations on Oct. 31 and Nov. 7. Leaders from USA Health’s testing staff worked with city leaders to create this new partnership.

In early October, the testing center staff partnered with the USA Health departments of family health and pediatrics for its first Saturday drive-through flu vaccine clinic for established USA Health patients. Nearly 50 patients between the ages of 20 months and 80 received flu shots that day.

Since April 2020, more than 17,500 COVID-19 tests have been administered to patients by USA Health staff members at several drive-through sites.  

The drive-through clinics are planned for Monday through Friday, Oct. 26-30, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mobile Civic Center. Saturday clinics will be held Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lots of three area fire stations.
