In the new role, Curtis will oversee departments involved with women’s health, including general obstetrics and gynecology, high-risk obstetrics, labor and delivery and mother-baby. She also will implement new programs that will support improved patient outcomes.

“We are excited to have Vicki in this new position as she brings more than two decades of experience in women’s health to our hospital,” said Deborah Browning, MSN, RN, CENP, chief nursing officer for Children’s & Women’s Hospital. “She is an exemplary leader who understands the role of evidence-based nursing practices and patient-centered care, which optimizes better outcomes for mothers and infants.”

In previous roles, Curtis served as a manager in the labor and delivery departments at USA Health and Thomas Hospital. She also worked as a nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola and at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, England.

Curtis has spent most of her career in maternal-child nursing, where she’s provided care to women throughout pregnancy and childbirth. She is excited to continue her career at an academic health system.

“Learning is current, evidence-based and available at all stages of our careers,” said Curtis. “I am delighted to join this talented team, share their visions and accomplish goals to impact population health in our region.”

In 2013, Curtis earned a master’s degree in nursing at Spring Hill College.

With 2,400 births each year, USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital provides the most comprehensive services for children and women in the region.
