USA Health provides care for Dauphin Street Vault athletes
The medical team remained on site throughout the event to evaluate injuries, manage heat-related concerns, and help athletes return to competition safety. The team addressed injuries including neck strain, cuts and bruises.

As elite pole vaulters competed in the 15th annual Dauphin Street Vault in downtown Mobile, representatives from USA Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine were on hand to provide expert medical care.
USA Health sports medicine specialist Peter Rippey, M.D., CAQSM, and a certified athletic trainer provided care for the athletes participating in the July 18 event, which is designated as a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger competition. Each year, Dauphin Street Vault transforms a section of Dauphin Street into an outdoor pole vault venue, attracting elite athletes and hundreds of spectators.
“Supporting events like the Dauphin Street Vault reflects our commitment to promoting sports medicine, community wellness and safe athletic competition in the area,” said Rippey, who also serves as medical director and team physician for the University of South Alabama Athletics.
