‘Courageous Conversation’ to focus on USA LGBTQ+ community

Supporting and being the USA LGBTQ+ community is the topic of a virtual session planned for Wednesday, Jan. 26.

The University Committee on Diversity and the USA College of Medicine Office of Diversity and Inclusion is hosting “Courageous Conversation: Supporting and Being the USA LGBTQ+ Community” on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

The session will begin with introductions of a panel of University of South Alabama faculty and students who are members of the LGBTQ+ community on campus and at USA Health. Then, the panelists will answer questions from the moderators and the audience.

Moderators for the event are Michael Mitchell, Ph.D., vice president for student affairs and dean of students at USA, and Franklin Trimm, M.D., assistant vice president for medical affairs and associate dean for diversity and inclusion at the USA College of Medicine.
