“Celebrate the Season” is this year’s theme for the University of South Alabama department of music annual holiday concert.

The community is invited to attend the 2019 musical event to be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6, at the USA Mitchell Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.

“The student ensembles of the USA music department look forward to sharing the music of the holiday with the University and greater community!” said Dr. Laura Moore, interim music department chair and director of choral activities. “The concert will feature music for Celtic flutes, klezmer, opera theatre, trumpet ensemble, and steel drum band.”

Moore said there will also be large vocal and instrumental groups, including the Jaguar Marching Band, singing and playing familiar tunes like "Carol of the Bells" and "Hark! the Herald Angels Sing."

Free parking will be available in the Mitchell Center, Gamma, Humanities and Mitchell College of Business parking lots. Handicapped parking will be available in the Mitchell Center lot. The JagTran will provide round-trip transportation between parking lots and the Mitchell Center before and after the concert.
