Deborah Browning, MSN, RN, CENP, chief nursing officer at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, has been named interim administrator. Her appointment follows the departure of longtime administrator Chris Jett.

Prior to joining Children’s & Women’s Hospital in March 2021, Browning served as chief nursing officer at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. She has been responsible for women’s and/or children’s service lines at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Browning completed the American Organization of Nurse Executives Nursing Director Fellowship and serves on several AONL committees at the national level.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, and her master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Phoenix.

The Healthcare Leadership Certificate takes a year to complete, with classes held in person at the Mitchell College of Business. The first cohort, a select group of faculty and staff from USA and USA Health, is working through the curriculum and expected to complete the requirements by December 2024.
