USA Health’s 19th annual GO Run to raise awareness and support for gynecologic cancer research
For nearly two decades, GO Run has united the Gulf Coast in support of women affected by gynecologic cancers while raising funds for groundbreaking research at the Mitchell Cancer Institute.
Registration is now open for the 19th Annual GO Run for gynecologic oncology research, hosted by the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute (MCI) on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the University of South Alabama campus.
GO Run brings together survivors, patients, families and community supporters for a morning dedicated to hope, awareness and creating impact. The event includes a 5K race beginning at 8 a.m. and a 1-Mile Fun Run at 9 a.m.
For nearly two decades, GO Run has united the Gulf Coast in support of women affected by gynecologic cancers while raising funds for groundbreaking research. Since its founding, the event has raised more than $1 million to support innovative research at MCI. Every dollar raised remains local, directly helping researchers and physicians advance efforts in prevention, early detection and treatment at MCI — the region’s leading academic cancer and research facility.
“Support from GO Run has helped accelerate research that is improving how we understand, detect and treat gynecologic cancers,” said Dr. Brian Persing, director of the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. “The funds raised through this event stay here in our community, allowing our scientists and clinicians to pursue innovative research and expand access to promising new therapies. We are grateful to everyone who joins us in advancing our mission to improve outcomes for women across the Gulf Coast.”
Participants may register individually or as part of a team. Team awards will be presented in several categories, including Highest Fundraising Team, Most Team Spirit, Best Dressed Team and Largest Team. Race awards will recognize top finishers across multiple divisions and age groups.
Following the races, participants and supporters are invited to a post-race celebration featuring sponsor booths, free food, family-friendly activities and more. The event provides an opportunity to honor loved ones, celebrate survivors and connect with others impacted by gynecologic cancer.
Since its founding, GO Run has funded innovative research at MCI, supporting discoveries that have led to new clinical trials, improved treatment approaches and a greater understanding of gynecologic cancers.
Registration is now open. Whether participants run, walk or roll, every registration, donation and sponsorship helps advance gynecologic cancer research and care across the Gulf Coast region.
