Doc Rock is a “battle of the bands” style event where at least one member of each band has an affiliation with USA Health. Doors open at 7 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite band, and prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories. Join us March 21st, benefiting research and critical clinical needs at USA Health.

Doc Rock 2023: By the Way

By the Way

USA Health Designation: USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute

"By The Way" is formed from members with extensive experience in the Mobile music scene. Drew Bentley, on lead guitar and vocals, and Jimmy Robinson, on drums, were both founding members of the band Redhouse and have been a staple in the venues around Mobile for almost two decades. Andy Cobb on bass guitar and vocals has been a member of several bands, from Peek to the Wes Loper Band. Joey Jones on rhythm guitar recently returned to Mobile and played together with Andy in AM Radio. Together they unite to form the band "By The Way," where their high-energy shows feature incredible harmonies and strong song selection.

Mobile Second Line Society Brass Band

USA Health Designation: H. Pete & Ashley Jones Neuroscience Research Endowment - USA Neurology

Mobile Second Line Society is Mobile's own brass band, playing hard-driving funk and rock since 2014. Inspired by the sounds of Mardi Gras, Mobile Second Line Society is an integral part of Mobile's culture.

The Shotcallers

USA Health Designation: USA Health Children’s & Women’s Cardiopulmonary Dept.

The Shotcallers started playing in 2021 and never stopped. They play a mix of music ranging from hits from the 60s and 70s to newer songs. The Shotcallers love to jam, play blues, and entertain a crowd. Favorite bands are SRV, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Wet WIllie, and Blackstreet.

Sloth Racer was formed in 2017, and features a revolving cast of like-minded musicians with a love for live performance. Expect to hear an eclectic mix of your favorite hits, 90s to now.

Society Hill

USA Health Designation: USA Health’s Project Inspire

Society Hill consists of members who have been singing and playing instruments for decades. The band is coming together for this special occasion to raise awareness about and funds for USA Health’s Project Inspire. They typically sing and play gospel music. However, for this performance, they will perform a medley of classic songs throughout the years.
