Multiple factors contribute to cancer. At MCI, our certified genetic counselor provides consultations and customized evaluations for people who want to understand their personal and family risk for developing cancer. As a result, individuals are able to make informed choices about their health.
When people are diagnosed with cancer, they need a doctor who takes the lead in their treatment and serves as a sort of “gatekeeper” for their care. Whether this is a medical oncologist or hematologist depends on the type of cancer.
The Mitchell Cancer Institute Springhill Medical Center offers free parking to all patients and guests.

USA Health’s Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship is a one-year program that provides care to residents in rural and urban areas in Alabama where prenatal care is often nonexistent.
The Healthcare Leadership Certificate takes a year to complete, with classes held in person at the Mitchell College of Business. The first cohort, a select group of faculty and staff from USA and USA Health, is working through the curriculum and expected to complete the requirements by December 2024.
The MCI Par 3 Golf Tournament hosted by Lexus of Mobile benefits the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. Join us Thursday, May 2, at Magnolia Grove. Tee-off is at 1 p.m., and all tournament players are invited to attend the post-tournament awards presentations and reception. Prizes will be awarded at every hole!
