At the USA Digestive Health Center, we provide patients with leading-edge treatments for all digestive conditions -- from the most common to the most complicated. Our interdisciplinary specialty team provides a unique level of technical sophistication and experience that are consistent with the top GI centers across the United States.
We are conveniently located at University Commons, across the street from USA's main campus. The USA Digestive Health Center is part of the USA Health System, and is supported by the resources of more than 200 academic physician and surgical specialists, two hospitals, and approximately 25 specialty outpatient care centers. Our pediatric colleagues provide outpatient care to their patients at their offices in midtown Mobile.
Inpatient adult gastroenterology care is typically provided at one of the University's hospitals. Patients are admitted to a specific hospital based on their medical needs, as well as their convenience. Our physicians admit to USA Children's & Women's Hospital and the USA Medical Center. Our physicians are also available for consultations and second opinions. Our pediatric gastroenterologists provide care for children up to the age of 18 and care for their patients at USA Children's and Women's Hospital -- a specialty hospital where a child-friendly environment reduces the anxiety and fear of young patients. Here, the team is supported by pediatric specialists in all the major subspecialties.
Adult patients are seen by referral and by appointment at our new location at University Commons, across the street from USA's main campus. The USA Gastroenterology Division is a consultative practice for adults with digestive health concerns and our doctors will be pleased to arrange an appointment with a primary care physician if you don't already have one. Office hours for making appointments are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call (251) 660-5555 to make an appointment.
At the Digestive Health Center, we recognize the importance of the entire patient experience in the evaluation and treatment of gastrointestinal conditions. We work closely with our primary care colleagues and other specialists, including a registered dietician who is available to discuss specific nutritional plans that enhance gastrointestinal health for conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, lactose maldigestion, liver disorders, and gastroparesis.

This academic tie also allows the team at the Digestive Health Center to remain at the forefront of new innovations for the evaluation and treatment of digestive disorders and to collaborate closely with experts in other fields of medicine and surgery within the USA Medical Center healthcare system.
