The region’s only Level I trauma center is at USA Health University Hospital.

The Arnold Luterman Regional Burn Center the only one of its kind on the Gulf Coast between Gainesville and New Orleans.

Cancer Prevention Program

The region’s only active cancer prevention program performing cancer control research is at Mitchell Cancer Institute.

Comprehensive Epilepsy Program

SouthCEP is the only program in the region providing comprehensive care and novel treatment options for people suffering from epilepsy.

Regional Stroke Center

Benefits Package

Here’s a summary of the benefits we offer in addition to an attractive salary or hourly rate:

  • Health insurance plan Health insurance that includes dental coverage and an annual vision exam is available for both individual employees and their families. USA Health pays for 70 percent of the cost of the premium while the employee pays for only 30 percent.
  • Life insurance A basic life insurance policy that represents a set percentage of your annual salary is automatically included as part of your employment. The premium is paid for by USA Health. In addition, employees have the option of purchasing up to 3x the basic term life insurance. Employees may also add their spouse and/or children for a nominal fee.
  • Disability insurance option Disability insurance is available to employees. The coverage replaces up to 60 percent of your salary.
  • Education benefit Employees may take classes at the University of South Alabama for free for up to 5 credit hours per semester. Family members may do so at a deep discount. Learn more about this benefit.
  • USA Recreation Center membership option Employees have the option of joining the University of South Alabama’s state-of-the-art recreation center for a nominal fee.
  • USA athletic events passes and discounts Employees can attend all University of South Alabama sporting events except football games for free with their ID card. Football season tickets are available at a discount.
  • Matching 403b USA Health will match your 403b retirement plan contribution up to 5 percent. Included with this benefit is a free individual financial planning session with a financial planner.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) Employees earn paid time off (PTO) as they work. PTO can be used for vacation, holidays, sick days and personal days.
  • PTO Cash Out During Open Enrollment each year, employees can choose to cash out up to 80 hours of available PTO the following calendar year. Accumulated PTO is paid at the full value of the hours available.
  • Non-tobacco incentive Employees who declare that they do not use tobacco products will receive a non-tobacco wellness incentive which will reduce the employee's monthly insurance premium.
  • USA Health facility incentives Employees who need medical care receive deep discounts when they use USA Health facilities. For example, there is no copay for hospitalization or surgery. The copay for a medically necessary visit to the emergency room is only $19.
  • Employee appreciation events Throughout the year, USA Health holds events designed purely to demonstrate appreciation to our team members. This includes an employee football game once a year to see the South Alabama Jags football in action.
  • EAP services Our employee assistance program (EAP) provides free, short-term, confidential counseling to any employee whose problems may affect their performance at work.
  • Sign-on and retention bonuses USA Health may offer a cash bonus for certain high-demand positions.

How to Apply and What to Expect

We appreciate your interest in joining the USA Health family. If you are interested in working with us, be aware that a flu vaccine is required for employment. All applicants must undergo background checks. In addition, drug screenings are required if you are applying for a job at one of our hospitals.

If you have limited access to a computer or the internet, stop by our human resources office. We have computer kiosks you can use to complete your online application.)
