Employees of USA Health can attend the University of South Alabama at a significant discount. It’s one of the ways USA Health shows our team members how valued they are to us.
The employee education benefit is an opportunity for team members who wish to advance their careers with additional college classes. Clinical staff can return to college for advanced degrees. Nurses can become nurse practitioners. And anyone can take courses to further their personal and intellectual growth.
The education benefit is available to all full-time employees, whether they just graduated from college, never finished or never attended. There’s also a tuition discount for immediate family members of employees.
A full-time employee who has been employed in good standing for at least six months can take up to five credit hours per semester at the University of South Alabama. USA Health pays 100 percent of registration fees and tuition for these hours. For employees employed on or after Jan. 1, 2013, the tuition credit rate is based on the prevailing USA College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate tuition rate for all course levels. You also receive a 10 percent discount on any books needed for your classes. In addition, the tuition credit is granted to you at the beginning of the semester, so you don’t have to pay tuition out of pocket before being reimbursed.
The spouse or dependents of an employee who has been employed full-time for at least six months can receive a 50 percent discount on tuition. There is no limit to the number of credit hours the student may take, and the same 10 percent discount on books applies. Family members must be granted acceptance at USA through the normal application process in order to take advantage of this benefit.
