Preparing For Childbirth
The expectant mother and her support person can choose this Saturday class. Topics include: changes in pregnancy, overview of labor, comfort techniques, medical interventions, explanation of vaginal and cesarean births, and postpartum recovery. Class includes a tour of maternity areas. Expecting mothers should plan to attend around 28 weeks. A box lunch will be provided.

Classes are free of charge to USA patients delivering at USA Children's & Women's Hospital; however, reservations are required. Classes must be reserved with a debit/credit card. A $15 fee will only be charged if a participant does not show for class or does not call to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations and rescheduling must be done 24 hours prior to class. All classes will meet in the 1st floor conference room. Please call the Education Department at (251) 415-1685 to make reservations.
