The University of South Alabama Medical Center has a unique place in the community. The Level I trauma center, the only one of its kind in Mobile, offers the highest level of care to the central Gulf Coast.
The Arnold Luterman Regional Burn Center is the only facility in the region providing burn care from injury to recovery. Plus, it offer centers of excellence in stroke care and cardiovascular diseases. The stroke center just received the Gold Plus Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. This designation means it meets the high standards that produce the best outcomes for our stroke patients.
As a teaching and research facility for the USA College of Medicine, the Medical Center also plays a key role in the development of tomorrow’s technology and health care professionals. That role is taken very seriously, ensuring high standards in all aspects of patient care. We are pleased with the Medical Center’s ranking 29th out of 102 U.S. academic health care centers in a recent University Health Center Quality and Accountability Study.
Improvements continue along Mobile Street, the gateway to Crichton and our hospital. Working with Mobile City Councilman Fred Richardson and Mobile County Commissioner Merceria Ludgood, USA Medical Center has spearheaded these improvements, which have transformed the avenue. USA Medical Center is pleased to help the community in other ways through our partnerships with Dumas Wesley Community Center and Holloway Elementary School.
This vital institution and the staff, physicians, and volunteers always put their patients first. Your support is appreciated as we continue our mission in the community to help people lead longer, better lives.
