Graduated Residents

The University of South Alabama General Surgery Residency has been very successful in preparing graduates for competitive fellowship or other job opportunities in the community.  Our unique educational structure provides the "individualized training" to prepare each resident for their specific future ambitions whether it be obtaining a fellowship, community based practice, or future international mission surgery. Our Department of Surgery is certainly an academic program with opportunities for cutting edge translational and outcomes research. Indeed, all of our current core faculty are fellowship-trained and dedicated to teaching and mentoring students and residents. However, the flexibility in our training allows for residents to also gain the necessary skills and knowledge necessary to start practicing in a community setting without additional training. The list below shows where our most recent graduates have gone upon graduation.
