Dr. Awan received his medical degree from the University of Punjab, Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of South Alabama. During his training he also served as a chief resident in the Department of Internal Medicine. He completed his subspecialty training in cardiology at University of South Alabama and his interventional cardiology fellowship at Winthrop University Hospital, New York. He is currently the Director of Interventional Cardiology & Endovascular Interventions. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases & Interventional Cardiology. He has special expertise in coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease & structural heart disease. He has given multiple talks on peripheral vascular disease & coronary artery disease.
