Your primary care physician can refill most prescriptions; however, we will be glad to refill prescriptions for medications originally prescribed by us during regular office hours. Unfortunately, we are unable to refill prescriptions after hours or on weekends. Also, in order for us to fill prescriptions, we require the patient to have been seen by us within the past six months. Narcotic prescriptions cannot be prescribed or filled by phone. Please don't wait until the last minute to refill your prescription. When calling, please have the name and phone number of your pharmacy ready.
Adult patients are seen by referral and by appointment at our new location in University Commons, across the street from USA's main campus. The USA Gastroenterology Division is a consultative practice and our doctors will be pleased to arrange an appointment with a primary care physician if you don't already have one. Office hours for making appointments are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call (251) 660-5555 to make an appointment.
We believe in the value of your time and try to efficiently honor your appointment time. Please arrive 30 minutes early for your first appointment in order to complete the necessary forms. Please do not bring children to the appointment, as they may distract you from giving full attention to the doctor's evaluation. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify our office 24 hours in advance. No-shows will not be rescheduled.
Between visits, you may call regarding a change in your condition or with questions about your medications. Please do not call to check on laboratory or test results. This information is best discussed with you in a follow-up office visit. By keeping your follow-up appointments, you can discuss in detail the results of previous tests and arrange for appropriate follow-up. In addition, by keeping a follow-up appointment you can be assured that your primary care physician will receive the results of the tests performed along with our final recommendations.
Billing and Insurance
The USA Gastroenterology Division accepts most insurance, but patients should confirm participation when making an appointment. Payments and co-pays are required at the time of the visit. MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
