Dr. Jeffrey Brewer
Assistant Professor, Trauma
Dr. Brewer received his Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University. He attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. He completed a residency at Stony Brook University Hospital and an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the University of Texas-Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital. His specialty is orthopaedic traumatology. His primary interest includes pelvic/acetabular injuries, periarticular fractures, nonunions, malunions, and infections. He joined the Orthopaedic Surgery faculty in 2015.
Dr. Preston Daugherty
Adjunct Assistant Professor
Dr. Daugherty received his undergraduate degree from Birmingham Southern College and his medical degree from the University of Alabama - Birmingham School of Medicine. He interned at St. Vincent's Hospital and completed residencies at the University of Alabama Hospital and Clinics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and AAOS.
Dr. Christopher Jones
Assistant Professor, Sports Medicine
Dr. Jones recently completed his Spots Medicine Fellowship at the ASMI and ASMOC orthopaedic training facility at St. Vincent's in Birmingham, Alabama. His expertise complements and increases the capacity of the athletic injury sports program at USA and allows more sports medicine research. Stem cell injection therapy and hip arthroscopies are his subspecialties. He also provides depth for recreational and related injuries occurring on campus and for those in the USA system that have been underserved up to now.
Dr. Prasit Nimityongskul
Dr. Nimit is USA's longest tenured orthopaedist. He joined the faculty in 1983 and is well published. Dr. Nimit received both his undergraduate and medical degree from Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. He completed his residency at USA and then a Pediatric Fellowship at the A. I. Dupont Institute in Wilmington, Delaware and at Children's Hospital at Louisiana State University. Within pediatric orthopaedics, his primary interests include scoliosis, clubfoot, and hip dislocation (DDH).
Dr. Albert W. Pearsall, IV
Professor, Residency Program Director
Dr. Pearsall received his Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed orthopaedic surgery residency training at University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Pearsall's advanced training experience included a Sport Medicine and Shoulder Research Fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina and a Shoulder and Trauma Fellowship with the AO Group in Hanover, Germany. Dr. Pearsall is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his scholarly efforts, speaking ability, and leadership. He is USA's Director of Sports Medicine and Head Team Physician for the USA Jaguar football team.
Dr. Mark Perry
Professor, Foot and Ankle
Dr. Perry received a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering. He completed his medical degree and residency at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, follwed by a Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the University of South Alabama under Orthopaedic Chair Dr. Arthur Manoli II. He was awarded an NIH young investigators grant. He serves as an oral examiner for the ABOS, Chairman of the Southeast Orthopaedic Foot Club (SEFOC) and serves on the Editorial Board for www.footeducation.com.
Dr. Zhiqing Xing
Assistant Professor, Orthopaedic Oncology, Trauma, and Adult Reconstruction
Dr. Xing received his medical degree from Beijing Medical University. He completed his orthopaedic residency training at Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China. He them completed training in orthopaedic research at the University of Tennessee - Campbell Clinic and at the University of California - San Francisco. He completed fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of New Mexico, adult reconstruction at the Virginia Commonwealth University, and Musculoskeletal Oncology at the University of Texas - MD Anderson Cancer Center. He specializes in bone and soft tissue tumors and joint replacement.
