The clinic offers comprehensive genetic evaluation and counseling to children and families affected by birth defects, developmental disabilities, growth and skeletal abnormalities, and family history of genetic disorders among others.

Patients are usually referred by primary care physicians or medical specialists and the typical visit includes obtaining family and medical history information followed by a physical examination performed by a board-certified medical geneticist.

Complementary studies are frequently needed and may include imaging techniques and genetic laboratory analysis. The referring physician is sent a letter with a summary of the evaluation including suspected or confirmed diagnosis and suggested recommendations.

A follow-up appointment is usually scheduled to assess the patient's progress and to offer additional genetic counseling.
