KISS was launched in 2007.
USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital and Kohl’s Department Stores have embarked on an ambitious program to help babies sleep safely.
The hospital’s nurses go into the community to teach parents and caregivers safe sleep habits for babies.
Thanks to support from Kohl’s, KISS also includes “Kohl’s Cribs for Kids,” which provides qualifying Mobile County families free Pack ‘n Play cribs. These cribs will help reduce deaths due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and unsafe sleep. These cribs are portable and can be taken wherever the baby receives care.
If your baby is not sleeping alone in a crib, you may be endangering your baby’s life. And it’s dangerous for a baby to sleep with an adult, sibling, on a couch or other unsafe sleep environment.
USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital, through MOM Care – Mobile’s Medicaid Maternity Program – provides education and training for qualifying families on proper sleep for the baby. When a qualifying family completes the program, they receive a free crib.
USA Children's & Women's Hospital is among a handful of freestanding hospitals in the country dedicated specifically to the health care needs of children and women, offering Mobile's only neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, pediatric oncology and sickle cell outpatient center, and high-risk obstetrical care. With more than 2,700 births annually, USA Children's & Women's Hospital is the area's leader in deliveries.
A major expansion has nearly doubled the size of USA Children's & Women's Hospital, recognizing the community's validation of the hospital's quality of care and the hospital's opportunity to continue to meet the needs of a varied and growing population.
