MCI sponsors events throughout the year that are geared toward creating awareness of the importance of early detection in both cancer prevention and creating better outcomes for those diagnosed with cancer. We also host several annual events in collaboration with various community organizations and businesses to support patient care and advance our research initiatives.
Science on Tap is an informal talk on the science surrounding cancer held bimonthly at some of the coolest venues in Mobile and Gulf Shores. This is a free event, open to the entire community, with food and drinks available for purchase. For more information and upcoming dates, visit the Science on Tap webpage.
The Salty Worm Brackish Classic and Delta Bash is unlike any other event of its kind! The "Brackish Classic" is the world's only fishing tournament that pits saltwater speckled trout fishermen head-to-head with freshwater bass fishermen. This occurrence can only be found in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta during certain periods of time each fall. The Delta Bash, a family-friendly party following the tournament, enables non-fishermen to join the fun. All proceeds from the Salty Worm Brackish Classic benefit the Gaillard Pancreatic Cancer Research Endowment. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 251-460-6209 or visit the Eventbrite page.
Celebrate Hope is the premier fundraising event for the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.
