MCI sponsors events throughout the year that are geared toward creating awareness of the importance of early detection in both cancer prevention and creating better outcomes for those diagnosed with cancer. We also host several annual events in collaboration with various community organizations and businesses to support patient care and advance our research initiatives.
Science on Tap is an informal talk on the science surrounding cancer held bimonthly at some of the coolest venues in Mobile and Gulf Shores. MCI invites kids of all ages to climb aboard and explore vehicles from fire trucks to helicopters, with the proceeds going to leukemia research. The cost is $20 per car admission, and food trucks are on site. Sponsors include Bay Landscaping, Mobile City Council Member Bess Rich, Abraham Mitchell, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Parker.

Hope Grows Here is a farmer's market brunch locally sourced from Baldwin County growers and producers. All proceeds provide critical funding to support the new MCI Kilborn Clinic in Fairhope, including clinical, pharmacy, radiation and education services.
GO for gynecologic oncology is an annual 5K and 1-mile fun run held on the main campus of the University of South Alabama. Held each September during gynecologic cancer awareness month, all proceeds from the run benefit the GYN Cancer Research Endowment at the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.
Held each October during breast cancer awareness month, the Think Pink Tea is a free, community-wide event that celebrates the lives of area breast cancer survivors while providing hope to those currently battling this disease. Polo at the Point is a prestigious sporting event held every October at the Sonny Hill-Clearwater Polo Complex. Local, regional and international polo players compete for the coveted Point Clear Polo Cup. Festivities also include a player's party, seated luncheon, silent auction, divot stomping, a hat parade and much more! The Salty Worm Brackish Classic and Delta Bash is unlike any other event of its kind! The "Brackish Classic" is the world's only fishing tournament that pits saltwater speckled trout fishermen head-to-head with freshwater bass fishermen. This occurrence can only be found in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta during certain periods of time each fall. The Delta Bash, a family-friendly party following the tournament, enables non-fishermen to join the fun. All proceeds from the Salty Worm Brackish Classic benefit the Gaillard Pancreatic Cancer Research Endowment. Celebrate Hope is the premier fundraising event for the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute. Held the Thursday before Thanksgiving each year, guests enjoy food, wine and craft beer pairings from local and regional chefs and caterers, along with live entertainment.
