NICU graduates are babies who were born premature, underweight or ill, and were treated in the Wiseman NICU at USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital. A Level III NICU, it provides the region’s most advanced care for premature and critically ill newborns. NICUs are classified by the level of care they are equipped and certified to provide. Level III NICUs provide comprehensive care to the sickest of newborns. Numerous families have benefited from their specialized intensive care.
Nearly 1,000 babies are admitted annually to the hospital’s NICU, with more than 20 percent of those infants brought from other hospitals by the USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital “Care For Babies” NICU transport vehicle.
