Mike Stempien has recently been named Director of Respiratory Therapy at the University of South Alabama Medical Center.
"Mike not only brings a great deal of experience to this job, he also brings a huge amount of enthusiasm and excitement," said Assistant Hospital Administrator Elmer Sellers.
Stempien started his career as a respiratory therapy equipment tech in 1988 while still a student at the University of South Alabama. He served as both a respiratory therapist and, for the past 20 years, as a respiratory therapy supervisor. Stempien graduated in 1990 with a bachelor of science degree in cardiopulmonary science.
The University of South Alabama Medical Center offers the highest level of care to the central Gulf Coast with unique services including Mobile's only Level 1 Trauma Center and Regional Burn Center plus Centers of Excellence in stroke care, cardiovascular diseases, and a wide range of acute care services.
