Local artist B'Beth Weldon will host a painting workshop for pediatric cancer patients at the University of South Alabama Children's & Women's Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 3 - 5 p.m.
The media is invited to attend and interview both the artist and the patients. The painting party will be held in the new cafeteria in the new expansion tower.
Weldon is the featured artist at this year's Polo at the Point, which will benefit pediatric cancer research at the University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Institute. The painting workshop is a collaboration between USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital and the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.
Weldon developed the Gifted Masterpieces program, through which she paints with pediatric cancer patients and their families and caregivers. Some of the paintings go to the silent auction for the event and some are kept by patients. She is wonderful with children and makes each child feel special.
