Nov. 30, 2017 - USA Medical Center Marketing Team wins First Place Award for Walking Path Launch

MOBILE, Ala. -- The USA Medical Center Marketing and Communications team was recognized with a Lantern Award for excellence in public relations for the successful launch of the USA Medical Center Walking Path during the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) Annual Lantern Awards held recently in Tupelo, Miss.

The USA Medical Center’s Marketing and Communications team also took home an Award of Excellence in public relations for the successful promotion of the 2017 Crawfish for a Cause, a fundraiser that benefits the Arnold Luterman Regional Burn Center at USA Medical Center.

The marketing team from USA Health’s hospitals won a total of three awards during the SPRF conference, including a Lantern Award (first place) for excellence in public relations for the successful promotion of the 2016 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Reunion held at USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital. Members of the Marketing & Communications team at USA Hospitals include Director Jennifer Ekman, Assistant Director Casandra Andrews, photographer Bill Starling, social media coordinator Lena Rieckenberg and staff member Cynthia Huie-Smith.

The Southern Public Relations Federation is a network of more than 1,400 public relations professionals from Alabama, northwest Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi. The federation is considered the premiere networking and professional development organization for public relations professionals in the Gulf South. The SPRF annual conference was host to more than 100 professional public relations practitioners and students from four states.
