MOBILE, Ala. -- USA Health is pleased to announce that Elizabeth "Liz" Kirby has been named an assistant administrator for the 3,800-employee system. Her new role includes the Department of Family Medicine, the University Physicians Group primary care clinic near the University of South Alabama main campus, and women's health services, including the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Kirby joined USA Children's & Women's Hospital in 2015 as Assistant to the Administrator. Her healthcare experience includes serving as the practice administrator at Greater Mobile Urgent Care, where she developed the startup of five clinics between 2010 and 2015.
“USA Health is a dynamic organization, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to take on new responsibilities within the system,” Kirby said. “Our physicians and staff members are highly qualified, caring and devoted healthcare providers. It is a privilege to work with such an excellent team."
Kirby received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also earned master’s degrees in health administration and business administration from UAB. A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Kirby served as secretary of the Mobile Chapter of the Medical Group Managers Association Board of Directors.
She and her husband, Scott, live in Mobile and attend All Saints Episcopal Church. Kirby serves on the Board of Habitat Young Professionals, part of Habitat for Humanity of the Southwest, and on the Board of the Child Day Care Association.
