|June 3, 2011 - Clista Clanton Receives Excellence in the Advancement of Nursing Scholarship Award|
|Clista Clanton, associate librarian at the University of South Alabama Biomedical Library, received the Excellence in the Advancement of Nursing Scholarship award from the Zeta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau (STT), an international nursing honor society.
This prestigious award is given to someone who has advanced nursing research, scholarly work and professional development.
"Clanton’s work with the USA College of Nursing at all levels of research and evidence-based practice more than made her an exquisite recipient of this most prestigious award,” said Dr. Linda Roussel, professor of nursing at USA. “Clanton has published with faculty on evidence-based research, and she has served as a lecturer and a consultant on scholarly projects.”
Clanton was presented the award May 12 at the Chapter's STT Scholar's Day program held at the USA Health Sciences Building.
“Receiving the Excellence in the Advancement of Nursing Scholarship award from the Zeta Gamma chapter of Sigma Theta Tau was such a great honor,” Clanton said. “Working with faculty and students in the College of Nursing and the USA College of Nursing’s Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic has been very rewarding on both professional and personal levels, and truly highlights the strength of collaboration across disciplines."
