Assistant and Associate Professors

Although the department has no specific positions available at this time, you may indicate your interest in future tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. A Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and postdoctoral research experience are required. Successful candidates will establish and maintain independent, extramurally-funded research programs and contribute to graduate and medical education. Areas of interest to the department include various aspects of signal transduction in cells of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, epigenetic regulation of gene expression by chromatin remodeling and RNAi, and regulation of actin cytoskeleton. Basic and translational studies are conducted that address problems in cancer cell biology, cardiovascular diseases and lung diseases.  Outstanding candidates conducting state of-the-art research in other areas of biochemistry and molecular biology will also be considered. Opportunities for interdisciplinary interactions with other basic science departments, the Mitchell Cancer Institute and the Center for Lung Biology are available.
