MOBILE, Alabama -- Dr. Omar Alkharabsheh, formerly of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, has joined USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute as a medical oncologist and assistant professor of interdisciplinary clinical oncology. Dr. Alkharabsheh will focus his practice on hematologic malignancies and benign hematology.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Alkharabsheh to the MCI Medical Oncology/Hematology team,” said Dr. Arthur Frankel, chief of Medical Oncology and the Arlene and Mayer Mitchell Chair in Medical Oncology. “He brings extensive training in the treatment of leukemia and other blood cancers.”
Prior to joining MCI, Dr. Alkharabsheh completed an advanced hematology fellowship at Mayo Clinic. He had previously completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, and an internship and residency at Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan. Dr. Alkharabsheh earned his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in Irbid, Jordan. He is married and has two children.
