ScienceOnTap_Logo.pngA cancer genetic counselor and a researcher will team up to present the next Science on Tap, an informal talk and Q&A hosted by USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.  The event is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Moe’s Original Bar B Que in downtown Mobile. The community is welcome.

Speakers are Aishwarya Prakash, Ph.D., a cancer researcher specializing in crystallography, and Jessa Blount, a certified genetic counselor.  Their talk is entitled “Genetics made crystal clear.”

Prakash joined MCI in 2016 after completing her post-doctoral research at the University of Vermont. She was named in the 2016 Class of Forty Under 40 by Mobile Bay magazine.

Blount joined MCI in 2016 after working as a cancer genetic counselor for Sentara Cancer Genetics Services in Norfolk, Va.

January’s Science on Tap featured gynecologic oncologist Dr. Jennifer Scalici and the topic “Chicken and the Egg: What hens tell us about ovarian cancer.”
