WHO SHE IS – I’m an Accountant II. I dabble in all areas of MCI accounting, but mostly prepare monthly financial statements, manage property, and process accounts payable. I joined in February 2015 with my accounting “other half,” Kristen Cleaves.

EDUCATION – My background is rooted in Mobile. I graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal School and then earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of South Alabama.

WORK HISTORY – I worked as an auditor for the U.S. Department of Defense Contract Audit Agency in both New Orleans and Birmingham, auditing government contracts and proposals.  I then worked as a financial analyst for EBSCO Industries in Birmingham for more than two years handling their international currencies (that was a lot of fun).  The past few years I have spent time enjoying being a stay-at-home mom.

WHAT SHE SAYS ABOUT MCI (OR CANCER) – “Being an accountant doesn’t give me much patient interaction, but I do interact with all levels of the MCI family – from top administration to researchers to clerks to nurses and doctors. I can say for certain that MCI has a fantastic, caring team that pulls together to make it a competitive cancer center and great place to work.”

HER FAVORITE THINGS –The beach, traveling, family and food!

FAMILY INFO – I grew up (mostly) in Mobile, and both of my parents still live here.  My dad is a neonatologist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital, and my mother just retired from CW as a point-of-care coordinator after serving over 25 years at South.  Because of my parents, I have grown up in and around USA, so being here is like home for me.  I’m also the mother of three children: two girls, ages 10 and 7, and a boy, age 3.

HER NEXT GOAL – I would love to earn a master’s degree in Public Administration or Accounting.  Getting my CPA is never off the table!

I AM MOST PROUD OF: My children!  I’m somehow raising three beautiful, intelligent and healthy kids.
